7 Ways to Work with the Full Moon
Tonight is the first full moon of the year, so if you have ever wanted to start working with the moon's energy, tonight is a perfect time to start. The full moon marks the end of a phase, a closure to a cycle. Therefore, it is an ideal time to have a ritual of reflection and cleansing. It is a time that we can review the last phase and choose to let go of what no longer serves us and choose what we want to take with us in the next stage.
The human body is composed of approximately 60% water; therefore, it is undeniable that we are affected by the ebb and flow of the energy of the moon. The moons gravitational pull causes the change in the ocean's wave as well as the waves of our emotions, hence why we may feel a little more on edge during this time. This edginess, however, is a reminder from our internal self that it may be time to release something or something needs our attention. As we let go or give recognition where it is due, we allow ourselves the opportunity to grow into the person we want to become. We can expand into a more developed human being - a human being who is not living on auto-pilot, but one who is creating their best life.
One of my favorite quotes is, "you cannot stop the waves, but you can learn how to surf." Below 7 of my favorite ways you can learn how to "surf" or utilize the energy of the full moon to your benefit.
1. Sage yourself and your space
2. Write down what you're letting go of this phase, on a piece of paper, and then burn it
3.Bathe in the moonlight
4. Meditate - I enjoy a loving-kindness meditation during this time
5. Journal about what you have achieved or brought to closure this last phase
6. Take a bath with Epsom salt
7. Recharge your crystals
